Introduction to Quantum Computing

LMSCourseImage_Intro_530x355.jpg

Quantum computing is an exciting, growing field. However, many of the concepts around quantum computers may seem confusing or counter-intuitive to our prior experiences. This course helps demystify some of those concepts and explains, at a very general level, how a quantum computer works. You will learn about multiple types of quantum computers and how they may be used to solve large, complex problems. You will also receive recommendations for additional skills, training, and support that can help individuals and organizations effectively learn about and adopt quantum technology.

This online, asynchronous course requires about two to three hours to complete. Learners have access to the course for 90 days from the date of enrollment.

  • Compare differences between classical and quantum computing.
  • Explain, at a very general level, how a quantum computer works.
  • Describe different types of quantum computers.
  • Compare annealing quantum computing and NISQ-era gate-model quantum computing.
  • List examples of real-world optimization and sampling problems that can be solved with annealing quantum computers.
  • List skills that may help you in quantum computing.
